The apes would know

unending night
Silver saucers
all in flight

Are they peaceful or insane
electrowaves are their domain
Radios, cellphones start to play
a message beamed from outer space:

Oceans rise
into the sky
Sucked in saucers
still in flight

Those on board begin to smile
not quite right but dolphin like

Laughter as the waters rise
shoreline wears a new disguise
Those in the water learn to fly
left on land we wonder why

Now the earth
Is dry as mars
Saucers waver,
then depart

No light to watch them disembark
left the humans in the dark

What their intentions truly are
they did not return our star
now this darkened earth
shows us what we're really worth.
